Kishtwar markets witness huge rush ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr

Just days to go before the Eid celebrations begin, preparations to celebrate the religious event are in full swing throughout the district .

Kishtwar town is witnessing huge rush of shoppers as the Muslims around the world are preparing  to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of holiest month of Ramzan during which followers are required to abstain from food, end of month of fasting, in next week.

Just days to go before the Eid celebrations begin, preparations to celebrate the religious event are in full swing throughout the district .

As per details, a large number of people from the town and outskirts of district Kishtwar thronged markets  to give last touch to their preparations of Eid-ul-Fitr, as it is approaching with all its attractions.    

It is observed that the shopping spree peaked during the last weekend of Ramazan as children and women remained busy in buying their accessories matching with their Eid dresses including shoes, jewelries etc. The Markets seemed crowded as majority of the people visit markets sparing time from their daily routine.

The women, in particular  are seen busy in shopping of groceries for cooking delicious food to celebrate festival of Eid.

While greeting the people on the occasion, Azhar Ali said, on any occasion in district Kishtwar Eid or Diwali, people irrespective of religion used to shop together. It  is a sign of peace and brotherhood, he maintained and added that the festival, marking end of the holy month of Ramzan, would also bring prosperity in the district Kishtwar in particular and State in general .

Meanwhile, Talking to Greater Kashmir, scores of shopkeepers expressed that in comparison to last year, the percentage in sale is very low due to demonitization affect, they said   adding that people are coming in market for selective items only.

It is pertinent to mention here that district Police has maintained tight security in town area to avoid any mishap.
