Nursing Association of Lal Ded Hospital today said it will extend support to the token strike call by J&K Nurses Association.

“All the nurses of LD Hospital will remain off work from 10 am to 11 am on June 1. The decision has been taken in response of a call for token strike from June 1 by J&K Nurses Association to protest against the continued apathy of government towards removal of pay anomaly,” the Nursing Association said in a statement.

The nurses body appealed government to take a sympathetic view of the nurses demands.

The decision to observe strike was taken last week by the body after an emergency meeting of nurses association was held in SMHS Hospital, with participation of nurses from GMC Srinagar, directorate of health services Kashmir as well as SKIMS medical college hospital. “Nurses working in Kashmir hospitals will observe limited hours’ token strike everyday from June 1 in order to bring their demands to government’s attention,” the association said.
