Nabeel wins Snow Splash trophy

After clinching Frozen Rush trophy, Nabeel Anwar Mir was declared the winner of Snow Splash, an auto cross event organised by Jammu and Kashmir police, here Sunday.

“Had an opportunity and I seized it. Kashmir off-road started a trend of motor sports and it started all from there,” said Nabeel while receiving the winner’s trophy and cash reward of Rs 50000.

Nabeel was driving a Maruti Suzuki Gypy and completed his run in just 2:29 min. Earlier , he won Frozen Rush 1, 4×4 adventure snow auto cross event.

All these events were organised at Gulmarg.

SDPO Tangmarg, Imtiyaz Ahmad said, “It is our privilege to organise such events. We are looking forward to organise such events in future.”

Taj Irshad scored second position, taking 2:36 minutes to cover the snowy track. Mushtaq Magray, a policeman, secured third position by taking 2:40 minutess.

Some weeks, ago a similar event Frozen Rush 2 was organised by a local group, Kashmir Off-road. Frozen Rush2 gained a lot of attention after Dr Sharmeen participated in the event first Kashmiri women to participate in an auto cross rally.

“I appreciate my officers who supported me throughout the event,” said Mushtaq.

“When it comes to taking part in any off-road auto cross event, It tests your nerves. I have participated almost in every event that took place in recent years and it is always fun,” said Ali Rizvi another participant.

Snow auto cross was started by Kashmir Off-road group when they organised an event Frozen Rush in 2017.
