The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was stunned today when its office bearers accorded a warm welcome to former finance minister and MP, Tariq Hamid Qarra  on his arrival in Rajouri.

Qarra is in the town to attend the marriage of a senior Congress leader. Qarra travelled to Rajouri via the Mughal Road.  He was received by a group of Congress workers.

The presence of two senior PDP leaders surprised the people including the Congress leaders.

"Both the leaders are known to have good relations with  Karra but their presence in Congress cadre while welcoming  Karra has been taken as a major surprise in district level politics by political pundits " political sources said.

They further said that PDP leaders who welcomed Congress Leader Tariq Hamid Karra hold important designation and are office bearers in district body..

If sources are to be believed, PDP leaders are fearing that Tariq Hamid Karra, who is having a good hold in PDP cadre of Rajouri, can  weaken  PDP in Rajouri and many leaders can  desert PDP and join Congress in support of  Tarra.

Meanwhile, Congress District President Sain Abdul Rashid, told Greater Kashmir over phone that Tariq Hamid Karra is in Rajouri to attend a marriage.
