Two men living near the Line of Control (LoC) in Saujiyan area of Poonch district have gone missing.

The two missing men were identified as Muhammad Bashir and Ghulam Rasool, both residents of the closely watched Saujiyan area near the heavily militarised LoC in Poonch district.

The duo reportedly went missing nine days ago, but the matter of their disappearance remained under wraps until their families lodged reports with police on Friday.

"Missing reports have been registered by police and investigation into their missing has been started but so far police have no clue," sources in the police department say.

"Security agencies fear that there are strong chances of their inadvertent crossing over to the other side of LoC."

Senior superintendent of police for Poonch, Rajiv Pandey confirmed the two men were missing, saying an investigation was ongoing to trace them.
