Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers on Thursday held a protest in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district over their pending monthly salaries from past four months.

Reports said scores of teachers from Hajin, Sumbal, Quilmukam and Gurez held a protest demonstration outside the office of zonal education officer at Hajin.

The teachers demanded release of their salaries forthwith.

The agitated teachers said their salaries have not been released from past four months.

“Instead of holding protests here, we should have been teaching at our respective schools. But government has forced us to come on roads, since our repeated pleas have fallen on deaf ears,” said a teacher.

The teachers said they are facing immense hardships due to non release of their salaries from past four months.
