Shabir Shah’s brother, nephew injured in pellet firing: DFP

Police refutes allegation

Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today claimed that brother and nephew of its chairman Shabir Shab were “targeted” by forces with pellets near Bijbehara today.   

“Syed Shah who is the brother of Shabir Shah and his son Arshid Shah were targeted by police and paramilitary force and fire several rounds of pellets on their vehicle while they were on way to Srinagar to meet Shabir Shah and later take him for a medical checkup. The duo has been shifted to hospital for the treatment,” DFP  spokesman said. 

Meanwhile, police has refuted the DFP claim. “Apropos to a news being circulated on social networking sites, WhatsApp groups and on the news portals that some persons got injured after they were hit by pellets at Bijbehara, Anantnag today. District police authorities Anantnag have informed that no such incident has happened in Bijbehara. No tear smoke or pellet was fired in Bijbehara today it has informed further,” police spokesperson said.  KNS
