Porter killed as India, Pakistan trade fire along LoC in north Kashmir

An army porter was killed as the armies of India and Pakistan on Saturday traded fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports said that the firing took place at 11:30 am in Kamalkote area of Uri.

A porter working with the army was injured in the firing. He was identified as Muhammad Abbass (22), a resident of Kamalkote.

He was shifted to a hospital for treatment. “He succumbed to his injuries,” said an official.
