Hitting out at ruling PDP for “pushing Kashmir back by a decade, ” opposition National Conference today said it was endeavour of party’s working president Omar Abdullah to ensure planned and equitable allocation of resources and funds irrespective of political affiliations to Beerwah constituency.

Addressing a gathering at Iskanderpora in Khag, Omar’s political secretary Tanvir Sadiq said, “Omar sahib promised you development of Magam-Beerwah-Budgam and Aripthan-Iskanderpora-Khag road and he delivered on his promise.”

The promise by Omar to ensure that every halqa sees equitable development is a reality now, said Sadiq. “And the promised for having bridge on Sukhnag will be turned into reality soon. In the last two years Omar sahib focused on developing health infrastructure in the constituency and he had donated at least seven ambulances to primary health centers,” said Sadiq, after Khag, Poshker, Beerwah, Gundipora, Magam and Narbal,  Iskanderpora  is the focus in health sector.

“Ambulance has been your constant demand to Omar sahib. I know how much your people have suffered, now you are not on the mercy of anyone- if someone needs to go to hospital you have a vehicle donated by your MLA Omar sahib” said Tanvir while donating 8th ambulance to PHC Iskanderpora adding that almost all PHC’s have their own ambulances.

“Mehbooba Mufti government had alienated people and widened the already deep trust deficit in the Valley. The PDP government has taken Kashmir back by a decade and all peace that we brought has been wasted. The level of alienation and resentment among people in general and youth in particular is alarming,” he said.

“Now we hear that even for filing an FIR she (Mehbooba) has to seek permission from her bosses in Delhi. She has been humiliated time and again by her bosses but her lust for chair is so much that she will prefer Kashmiris being subject to alienation and humiliation and won’t leave the chair. Her Government is responsible for the fast deteriorating situation in Kashmir,” Sadiq said.

He said people were facing difficulties due to shortage of ration and purchasing capacity of poor and downtrodden has gone down due to wrong policies of the government.

Sadiq also hit out at the government for delaying release of pension to poor, widows and destitute.

He asked party supporters to reach out to more and more people particularly youth to involve them in constructive party activities.

Constituency in charge Beerwah Prof Ab Majid Mattu, block president Khag Aftab Ahmed, block president Beerwah, Ghulam Ahmed Khan and many prominent citizens also addressed the gathering.
