Patwaris to observe pen-down strike tomorrow

The Association said that government is not showing any seriousness in resolving their issues.

Threatening indefinite pen-down strike after upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association Monday urged government to resolve their long pending demands.

The Association said that government is not showing any seriousness in resolving their issues.

“We have unanimously decided to go for token pen-down strike on June 21st this year. This strike will be observed across the state,” said Ram Raman Sharma, state president of the association.

“In case our long pending demands are not met, we will go on long strike after upcoming Eid,” he added.

He said that Patwari is the only official who has no office to sit in or no government locker to keep official records.

The association demands include: Grade pay of graduate Patwaris, abolishing direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildar, placement of GQs to the post of Naib Tehsildar, timely DPC of Patwaris and GQs, rent for Patwar Khanas, fee remitted in 0029 Head should be kept for Welfare of Patwar fraternity, departmental enquiry cell, Patwar Association Head Quarter Office / meeting hall in Jammu and Srinagar.
