Lolab mudslide: Rescue operations underway to trace out three missing persons

Reportedly, three missing persons -Muhammad Altaf and Ghulam Muhammad Lone from Warnow village, while Bashir Ahmad Ganie from Dardpora who were part of a hunter group that came under mudslide in Lashkote forests.

Efforts are underway in north Kashmir’s Kupwara to trace out the three missing persons, who had reportedly come under a mudslide on Saturday.

Rescue teams comprising of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), who are assisted by locals started out their search on Sunday in Lolab’s Lashkote forests, after search operations to trace out the missing persons were halted owing to inclement weather.

 “The rescue teams were dispatched today morning to the spot. Two persons who were part of the five member group that went missing were also taken to site to help the rescuers,” SSP Kupwara Shamsheer Hussain said.
