Law students protest against Kathua lawyers for bringing ‘shame’ to their profession

Braving rains, the students of Vitasta Law College Nowgam staged a protest to demand strict action against lawyers who they said “brought shame to their profession” by blocking challan and taking out a rally.

The students of a private law college in Srinagar on Monday held a protest to demand actions Kathua lawyers who “shamed their profession” by siding with the accused in minor’s gangrape-and-murder case.

Braving rains, the students of Vitasta Law College Nowgam staged a protest to demand strict action against lawyers who they said “brought shame to their profession” by blocking challan and taking out a rally.

The students were also carrying placards to seek justice for the minor Bakarwal girl who was gangraped and murdered in Rassana village of Kathua in January this year.

Eight accused in the case were produced in a court today.
