Hurriyat Conference (M) has condemned the continuous house detention of its Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

“Mirwaiz has been prevented to carry out his social and religious activities in the holy month of Ramdhan. The move reflects utter frustration on part of the State administration,” Hurriyat (M) spokesperson said in a statement.

The spokesman said that Mirwaiz in connection with Ramadan was supposed to deliver a sermon at Masjid-e-Rehmat Lalbazar, here where people were eagerly waiting and had to return disappointed.

The spokesman also denounced the imposition of continuous curfew and harassment of local population in South Kashmir. He also condemned the killing of a civilian Aijaz Ahmed Malik of Pulwama by unidentified gunmen.
