Gunmen ransack residence of PDP worker in Tral in south Kashmir

An official said that on Saturday night at around 8:15 pm, gunmen barged into the house of PDP zonal president Peer Mohammad Ashraf and vandalized the property.

Gunmen barged into the residence of a worker of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dardsara village of Tral township of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Saturday.

An official said that on Saturday night at around 8:15 pm, gunmen barged into the house of PDP zonal president Peer Mohammad Ashraf and vandalized the property.

He said that the gunmen fired some shots in air and left.

Ashraf, according to the official, was not present in the house.

“We were watching TV when suddenly few gunmen came inside our house and vandalized the property,” said a close relative of Ashraf.

Soon after the incident, forces rushed to the spot and conducted searches to nab the militants.
