Geelani, Malik, Mirwaiz pay tributes to Qazi Nisar

Geelani, Malik, Mirwaiz pay tributes to Qazi Nisar

Remembering Dr Qazi Nisar on his 24th anniversary, Chairman of Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani on Monday hailed his religious, social, and political contribution.

Geelani said that Qazi Nisar was a religious scholar and a firebrand orator.

“He played a stunning role during campaign launched by Muslim United Front,” said Geelani praying for eternal peace to his soul.

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, who was released from Central Jail Srinagar today, paid rich tributes to Qazi Nissar.

Terming Qazi as a great scholar, religious, political and social leader, JKLF chairman said that “his struggle and sacrifices cannot be overlooked by any one and today they all express our gratitude and love to his noble soul.”

“Personalities like Mirwaiz Qazi Nissar are actually symbols’ of resistance. Today when we remember this great soul, we recall his sacrifices, valor and passion to fight for freedom and stand against fascism and oppression,” he said.

Chairman Hurriyat (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was released after many days of continuous house detention also paid glorious tributes to Qazi Nisar on his martyrdom anniversary.

Describing Qazi Nisar as a noted religious scholar and popular political leader, he said that leader had dedicated his life to a noble cause. “While sacrifices given by the people for the ongoing resistance movement are innumerous, the sacrifices given at the leadership level are also unforgettable,” Mirwaiz said. 

“The martyred leader besides being intellectually oriented was a religious scholar with strong faith as well as practice who preferred a life of dignity rather than submitting to coercion and intimidation,” he said. 

Meanwhile, in connection with his sermons and preaching in the last 10 days of holy month of Ramadan known as (Ushra-e-Najat) Mirwaiz addressed a gathering of believers at Kaniyal Masjid Mahraj Gung here before Asr prayers and threw light on the blessing and greatness of the Ramadan. 

Mirwaiz is scheduled to give a sermon relating Ramadan and Islam on Tuesday 24 Ramadan (June 20) 2017 at Dastgeer Sahib (RA) Shrine Sarai Bala here.  

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Mazahmat chairman Bilal Sidiqee also paid tributes to Qazi Nisar hailing his religious, social, and political contribution.
