After battling with life for 27 days, a civilian who was injured during a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Shopian district succumbed on Tuesday.

Mohammad Ayoub Bhat, a resident of Mulu Chitragaam had received three bullets during a gunfight in Batmaran Wanpora village of Shopian.

In the gunfight, two militants were killed, while a woman died and over 50 protesters were injured on December 19, last year.

Two houses were also razed to ground by government forces during the firefight.
