Day after teacher was drowned while clicking her photographs along the banks of Sindh river in Ganderbal the district administration is mulling to ban photography along the gushing water body.

In a communiqué issued by Sub District Magistrate Mehraj-ud-din Shah to District Commissioner, the former has recommended to issue an order to impose ban on photography along Sindh in the district.

“It is to submit that the recent unfortunate incident which took place near Ahsan Resorts Gagangeer in which a lady teacher of a private school, who was reportedly taking ‘selfie’(photograph) on the bank of river Sindh drowned into the river and the other such incidents which took place in the past in which so many causalities took place demand that people should not be allowed to take photographs/selfies near or close to river Sindh,” reads the communiqué.

It also reads: “in view of above and to avoid such incidents to happen in future, it is recommended to kindly issue orders under section I44 CrPC where under an appropriate distance on the either side of river Sindh running through this district”.
