Navratra festival culminates with immersion of Saakh

This year, the 9-day long Navratra festival culminated with performing of pooja and immersion of Saakh in various rivers across the region.

Here in city, a large number of devotees were seen gathered on the banks of Ranbir Canal, Tawi River near Bikram Chowk and fourth bridge, for immersion of Saakh throughout the day. Besides, the Saakh the idols of Goddess Durga were also immersed in rivers after performing pooja -archna during the Navratra festival. 

Hawans were also solemnized at various temples across the city in connection with the culmination of Navratra festival.

During the festival, the devotees in several areas across the city organised ‘Pandaals’ in their respective localities where devotional songs were song by the singers from state as well as from outside to invoke the blessings of Goddess Durga.
