DG Prisons reviews security of Ambphalla Jail

Director General of Police (DGP) Prisons, Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday visited district jail Ambphala Jammu to review security of the  jail.

In a handout issued here, Singh was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) besides other jail officers.

Dilbagh Singh inspected all the apartments to get familiarized with the working and security needs.

During his meeting with the officers at Ambphalla Jail, security concerns and precautionary measures  besides gadgetry  needs and requirements for up gradation of security were discussed.

DGP prisons expressed satisfaction over functioning of the Jail. Earlier Dilbagh Singh visited Kot Balwal Jail to take security review.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Singh issued directions for focusing on overall health care of prisoners and to examine the cases of some of the old infirm prisoners as well.

“Skill development programme being run in the jail including house wiring, embroidery, tailoring weaving candle making carpentry beauty saloon were reviewed,” the hand out reads.

The GDP Prisons also visited the display outlet of prison products  named as Sudhar Bikri kendra outside jail and issued instructions for improvement in the products manufactured in order to compete with the market and make outlet a quality name to be trusted by public.

He also emphasized to come up with new ideas for demand based products like shoe bags, laundry bags, Kashmir embroidery, floor sheets to instill positive feeling of public towards preparation of products to be displayed in the forthcoming police public  mela.
