Budding engineers should focus on creating eco friendly products, technologies keeping in view the local challenges and aspirations, Industries Minister Chander Prakash Ganga said today.

According to an official spokesperson, the minister was speaking at the concluding event of two day 5th National Conference and Exhibition on ‘Emerging and Innovative trends in Engineering Technology’ (NCEEITET) organized by Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur at GCET Campus, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu.

Ganga said that young engineers can play a pivotal role in helping India achieve a dominant position in world economy. He said that events like these prove as incubators for shaping the future of technocrats. He thanked the organizers for providing a common platform for exchange of innovative ideas and knowledge between the academicians, students, researcher and industry.

Lauding the role of various PSUs in the development of the country, he exhorted upon industry professionals to also take up J&K State development under the corporate social responsibility.

Two-day programme of the conference comprised of talks from eminent personalities from research and industry. Besides workshops and exhibits display by CPSUs/PSUs about the evolving technologies in their respective fields were organized as part of the conference.
