Legal metrology department has booked a milk dairy unit and a bakery shop for violating the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.

According to an official spokesperson, during an inspection, it was found that the curd packages from a milk unit were printed with the advance date of packing which is in violation of Legal Metrology Act, 2009. Under the aforesaid Act, every mandatory declaration made on the label should be correct.

The notice was served to the manufacturer for making such a misleading declaration on the label and the management confessed the lapseand gave an undertaking that no such offence shall be repeated in the future. An amount of Rs 20,000 was slapped on the management for the offence.
