Hat Trick Public School Tuesday organised convocation for its students who qualified globally recognized International Competition and Assessment of Schools (ICAS) results 2017.

Around 125 students from Grade 2 to Grade 9 of the Hat Trick Public School participated in the assessment. University of New South Wales (UNSW) Global is doing the assessment – a world leader in the provision of education, assessment and expertise services wholly owned by UNSW Australia, which is also one of the leading research and teaching universities ranked in the top 50 universities in the world.

“Hat Trick Public School is the first school in Kashmir to have adopted ICAS assessment to make it students compete globally with such exams at their early ages,” said a spokesperson of the school.

Of the 125 students who participated in the ICAS, UNSW Global awarded 6 high distinctions, 26 distinctions, 40 credit, 10 merit and 43 participation certificates.

BJP member and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), North Zone chairperson, Hina Shafi Bhat and PHD Chamber, Kashmir Chapter chairman Mushtaq Chaya along with other dignitaries distributed the certificates to the students who passed the assessment.

UNSW Global Australia in collaboration with Macmillan Education brought ICAS, which is the most powerful diagnostic tool available to help schools and parents plan for the road ahead for their children in South Asian sub-continent.

Inderjeet Kour EPM of Macmillan Education while addressing the gathering during convocation said teachers and parents get deep insight into the capabilities of students and can assess the higher order thinking and problem-solving skills needed for success.

“ICAS does not assess how well a student remembers what they have been taught, it assesses the skills that underpin curricula internationally,” he said.

Chairman of the HattrickPublic School Showkat Mohammad Chowdhary said they are striving not only to provide quality education to the students but also a platform to compete globally from their own schools and assess their performances.

“The parents also get to know the capabilities of their children and which subject they are good at and which subject they need to improve upon.

The convocation saw the participation of most of the students from school along with their parents.

The parents appreciated the school for adapting to newer methods of improving education and the abilities of their children at international level.

On the occasion, HTPS also released brochures of ICAS – 2018 UNSW Global Australia.

HTPS has also entered into an understanding with many other foreign universities for special teachers training programme in which teachers will be certified internationally.

Macmillan Education India presented a special award to HTPS for Excellence in Innovative Education.
