A video showing mass copying by students during the recently concluded exams has gone viral on social media. The video surfaced on social media four days after the exams of class 10th to 12th culminated in Kashmir division, winter zone Jammu besides Leh and Kargil district.

In the video, the youth in scattered groups are seen helping the examinees with the chits from outside the examination centre.

The exam centre has witnessed public interference encouraging the students for mass copying.

The video has been captured probably in the boys higher secondary Devsar in Kulgam district.

The students appearing in the exams are seen collecting the chits from the windows, questioning the seriousness of the examination staff deputed at the centre.

The class 10th to12th annual examination were conducted by JK Board of School Education (BOSE) in which more than two lakh students appeared in around 2500 exam centres.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) G N Itoo has constituted a three member committee to check the authenticity of the video and submit the report to the department.

The three members of the committee are joint director education for south Kashmir districts Nasir Ahmad Lone, joint secretary examination JKBOSE Syed Abdul Rouf and additional deputy commissioner Kulgam Ghulam Hassan Sheikh.

“We will visit the spot to check the authenticity of the location as shown in the video. We would have taken action if the video had been shared on social media during exams,” said joint secretary examination Syed Rouf.

He said BOSE changed around 12 centres during the exams and also reshuffled the staff at some exam centres after receiving complaints of copying.

Earlier in February 2017, the JK BOSE cancelled the class 10th private annual examination of Science subject in five exam centres after video surfaced in social media showing public interference and mass copying at the exam centres.

The video was captured in Soibugh area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
