PDP leader and MLA Wachi Aijaz Ahmad Mir Wednesday visited his constituency after a period of eight months to review the ongoing developmental works in the area.

During the extensive tour, Mir inaugurated hotline 24*7 power supplies to the Community Health Center and Foot Bridge at Zainapora and took stock of other developmental works in the area.

Speaking to the people at the Community Facility Center, which he inaugurated in the morning, Mir said, “Someone has to take the front to do developmental work in this area,” he said.

The MLA also expressed his unhappiness over the delay in the pace of work in Bijbehara-Shopian two-lane road project and cautioned officers that he knew what was happening in government offices here. “Don’t think I am sitting in Srinagar and I don’t know what is happening in Wachi. I am aware about everything. I won’t tolerate corrupt activities,” he warned officers.

He added: “We all know Kashmir is a political issue. I have sought votes for development and not for freedom (Aazadi) in 2014 elections. Give me votes, I will give you development,” he said.
