With Eid-ul-Fitr nearing, the vendors in city center Lal Chowk who usually run their businesses on weekend have kept their stalls open attracting customers from all over valley.

The TRC junction to Hari Singh High Street famously know as ‘Sunday market’ wore a festive look with people seen busy purchasing goods.

“We usually operate on Sundays. This time rush of shoppers made us to continue the business,” said Mushtaq Ahmed, a street vendor, who sells kids wear opposite Pratap park.

The shoppers on the other hand said these vendors provide an option to make purchases at reasonable prices. “Everyone can’t afford to go to fancy shops and malls, “said Tasleema Akhter, a shopper at Residency road.

Meanwhile, traffic jams were also witnessed at the city center throughout the day.
